Ms. Parks Hello, I am Carla Parks and I teach PreK at Cooper Elementary. This will be my 4th year teaching in GISD. I have had a career in education for over 15 years. Prior to my current position, I have also taught Kindergarten here at Cooper, first grade with Pflugerville ISD, and Pre-K and Kindergarten in a small school district near Gatesville.

I was born and raised in Edinburg, located in the valley of South Texas. I graduated from Texas A&M in 1998 with a BBA. I reside in Hutto and have three teenaged children and a spoiled doggie. I spend a lot of my free time thinking about things to do in my classroom, but when I'm not, I enjoy spending time with my children having fun at the beach, floating the river, or just getting out of the house to go looking around.

¡Hola, Bienvenidos! Mi nombre es Nancy Ramos, soy maestra bilingüe de Preescolar en la escuela elemental Cooper. Este es mi 7mo año en Cooper como maestra de preescolar, pero también he enseñado 2do, 3ro, 4to y de 6to-9no grado. Crecí en México, pero mis estudios superiores los obtuve en la Universidad de Texas en el Permian Basin. Mi licenciatura es Español / ESL y mi certificación es desde preescolar hasta el 12vo grado. También tengo una maestría en Literatura Española. Mis grandes pasiones son mi familia y mi perrito. Disfruto de la lectura y caminatas al aire libre.

Hi, Welcome! My name is Nancy Ramos. I'm a PK bilingual teacher at Cooper Elementary. This is my 7th year at Cooper elementary as a PK bilingual teacher, but I have also taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and from 6th to 9th grade. I grew up in Mexico, but I went to the University of Texas at the Permian Basin. There I got my BA in Spanish / ESL and a teaching certificate from Early Childhood - 12th grade. I also got an MA degree in Language Arts (Peninsular Literature). My greatest passions in life are my family and my lovely doggie. I enjoy reading and doing long walks.

I can't wait to meet you and to enjoy an amazing school year!

Hello, my name is Shannon Patterson and I am going in to my second year of teaching PreK at Cooper Elementary. Prior to becoming a teacher, I had an18 year long career in the Criminal Justice field. In 2022, I followed my childhood dream of wanting to be a teacher and made the decision to follow that dream and began my career in education in 2022. I subbed for Georgetown and Leander ISD and also worked as a PreK Paraprofessional for Cooper Elementary. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. I have also served as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska.

I have lived in Texas most of my life except for 5 years when I lived in Alaska, more recently. I have a 3-year-old son who has been a blessing in my life. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer and basketball, bowling, watching sports, volunteering, traveling, and spending time with my son, family, and friends. Oh and I love dogs!

I look forward to an awesome and amazing year at Cooper Elementary!
